OCLC Batch Services

An efficient way to update, add or cancel large numbers of records or holdings offline.

Batch Processing allows libraries to automate the tasks of adding, updating, or cancelling the library's holdings in WorldCat. Automating this process saves the library time, effort, and some of the cost of manually maintaining OCLC holdings. Batch Processing also offers libraries the opportunity to create a one-time project to synchronize their OCLC holdings with their local catalog, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of processing interlibrary loan transactions.

In addition, OCLC Batch Processing can deliver batches of OCLC records to the library to be loaded into the library's local system. OCLC uses standard search keys provided by a vendor to automate the cataloging process, avoiding the manual process of searching, adding holdings, and exporting records.

Additional Batch Processing services include Local Database Creation, which delivers a set of records representing your holdings in OCLC, and OCLC Batch Service, which automates the creation and maintenance of OCLC local data records by loading holdings data from the library's local holdings records.
