OCLC Cataloging Partners Program

The OCLC Cataloging Partners program is a collaborative effort with materials vendors to reduce the cost of high-quality cataloging for libraries. Much like the PromptCat and GovDoc services, the Cataloging Partners Program moves the delivery of MARC records and the contribution of holdings to WorldCat further upstream, to the point of ordering.

OCLC works closely with distributors, importers, booksellers and publishers to provide bibliographic information faster and provide full MARC cataloging at an overall lower rate, especially for non-English and/or nonbook materials, so that their customers who are also OCLC members can receive MARC records and have their holdings set in WorldCat automatically.

Every item ordered from a partner comes with a full, customized, OCLC MARC record. The timely provision of records ensures that when materials arrive, and records are loaded into your catalog, your patrons will have full access to incoming materials received from vendors who are OCLC Cataloging Partners.
