Did You Know...

WorldCat Collection Analysis lets you analyze your collection and compare it to other collections without requiring you to expend extensive staff, time, or financial resources.

WorldCat Collection Analysis

OCLC WorldCat Collection Analysis allows you to analyze your collection and compare it to other collections.

You can evaluate your library's collection:

  • through one-to-one peer comparisons (with permission)
  • with all of Worldcat libraries,
  • against pre-defined groups or lists,
  • by analyzing your ILL statistics,
  • and now your circulation statistics as well!

As a group subscribers, you can compare group holdings by specific subject areas, or analyze the group's entire collection as one entity even if the individual libraries use different integrated library systems.

Based on the OCLC Conspectus, WorldCat Collection Anaylsis is organized by subjects but can be limited by titles and title counts, publication date, language, format, and audience.

WorldCat Collection Analysis allows you to chart data within the interface, but all results are exportable in a tab delimited format for manipulations in Excel or other spreadsheet applications.

Analyses are based on your library's existing holdings data in WorldCat. When you purchase a new subscription to the Collection Analysis service, OCLC offers your library a one-time retrospective or reclamation batchload at no additional charge to update or add holdings.
