OCLC WorldCat Resource Sharing Basics (Live & In Person)
This one day hands-on workshop provides an overview of basic OCLC ILL functionality using WorldCat Resource Sharing on FirstSearch. Participants will learn the skills and concepts needed to get started using OCLC’s Interlibrary Loan Service.
At the end of this class you should be able to:
- Search the OCLC WorldCat database efficiently.
- Create and manage Constant Data.
- Search the ILL Policies Directory.
- Create ILL requests for loans and copies.
- Navigate the Request Manager.
- Respond to ILL requests as a lender.
- Update requests.
Who Should Attend: Library staff who want to learn the basic skills needed to use OCLC ILL using the WorldCat Resource Sharing interface. This class is intended primarily for new or inexperienced users of the OCLC Interlibrary Loan service.
