Nylink Membership

Nylink is the only comprehensive multi-type library collaborative serving all of New York State. Membership is at the institutional level, and is open to libraries and cultural heritage organizations in New York State and its surrounding areas.

Nylink members include academic libraries, public libraries, public, school and multi-type library systems, corporate libraries, court and government agency libraries, gardens, museums and other cultural heritage organizations.

The Benefits of Membership

Effective July 1, 2009, Nylink membership will change from its current multi-tiered structure to a clear, single, annual membership price.

Here is some of what your institution has access to as a member of the Nylink consortium:

  • Consultation with expert librarians who can provide you with the advice and counsel you need to get your work done effectively.
  • Professional development and training for your staff at reduced member rates: aff at your library can attend Nylink training, which is offered in multiple formats on a range of topics. This includes face-to-face classes, online webinars, online classes, conferences, special events, and customized classes delivered at your institution.
  • Savings on electronic resources, e-books and other library-related products from a range of vendors and partners.
  • Member savings on Nylink services, including LAND, Nylink’s ground delivery service.
  • Member savings and involvement at the chrysalis stage with newly developed products and partnerships, such as with True Serials, a comprehensive serials holdings maintenance service and Spectra, a collection analysis service.
  • Member savings on Nylink consulting services, where we will work with your institution individually to assist you with your short- and long- term needs, on an as-needed basis.
  • Representation in national and international initiatives and organizations such as NISO, the National Information Standards Organization.
  • Representation on Nylink Council, Nylink’s governance body.
  • Connections to colleagues and opportunities for networking with your peers.
  • Financial management and bill-paying services, with all of the services and products you receive from Nylink itemized on one comprehensive bill.

Nylink Professional Solutions

Nylink members have the benefit of unlimited advice and counsel from Nylink staff members. Institutions that are not members of the Nylink consortium can acquire an NPS [Nylink Professional Solutions] subscription.
