Did You Know...

Using an automated comparison system will save money, reduce human error, and allow you to spend time focusing on selection decisions. Bowker's Book Analysis System also provides data cleansing services that will provide a more automated and accurate transaction with vendors.

Bowker Book Analysis System

Bowker's Book Analysis System (BBAS) electronically compares your collection to the H.W. Wilson Standard Catalogs* and provides you with reports that you can use to identify gaps and duplicates within your collection. It allows you to maintain your collection on an ongoing basis so you can provide the most current and appropriate titles to your library patrons.

Using four matching methods (ISBN, LCCN & Title & Author, Title & Author, or LCCN & Title), the comparison between your collection and the core list you choose allows you to instantly recognize by subject area where the strengths and weaknesses lie in your collection. Depending on the core list selected, reports are grouped either Dewey Decimal classification, LC classification or RCL taxonomy.

A one year subscription to Bowker's Book Analysis System includes unlimited site-wide access to BooksInPrint.com or GlobalBooksInPrint.com. Pre-existing subscribers to BooksInPrint.com or GlobalBooksInPrint.com can, for a special price, add the Bowker's Book Analysis System to their subscription as an upgrade. Institutions that do not have a current subscription to BooksInPrint.com or GlobalBooksInPrint.com can take advantage of a special BBAS/BooksInPrint package offer also available through Nylink.
