Kathleen Gundrum

Director of Marketing and External Relations
Responsible for the internal and daily operations of Nylink, Kathleen works closely with all Nylink staff to provide quality services and programming to New York’s libraries and cultural heritage organizations.
Leading the marketing and external relations team, she has overall responsibility for communicating Nylink’s benefits, services and collaborative spirit to current and future members. Some of her responsibilities include working with the organizations that Nylink supports in assessing their short- and long-term needs; soliciting feedback and input on Nylink services via surveys, member visits, and at Nylink events; coordinating outreach efforts; working closely with Nylink’s Executive Director to support Nylink Council; and routinely assessing Nylink services and structures to ensure they provide the best value and service to our members.
Since joining Nylink in 1998 as Member Services Librarian, Kathleen has been on countless member visits, which she thoroughly enjoys, and where she learns first-hand about the rich collections, numerous resources, and the great people providing services throughout New York’s libraries. Before joining Nylink, she was a reference and electronic resources librarian at the State University of New York at New Paltz, which was her first foray into web site development; she has also worked for public libraries, starting as a page at her community library during her high school years.
When she’s not visiting libraries, serving on committees, or reaching out to members, she enjoys time outside of work spending time with her family and browsing through books at her public library.
