Computype is a world leader in the production of bar code label products. The company's initial success in bar codes was achieved in the library industry. They successfully engineered bar code labels for books that were resistant to ultraviolet radiation. Today, Computype manufactures bar code labels, cd/dvd labels, label printing systems, and full color patron cards.

The special pricing available is considerably less than what a library would pay if they ordered directly from Computype. Computype provides all invoicing and shipping of ordered products. A Quick Order program for photographic labels is available. Send your purchase order in by noon central standard time on Thursday, and your labels will ship on Friday of the following week. See the Computype web site (link below) for more details. A sequence verification system is used in the processing of quick orders. The system automatically records the bar code number ranges produced so that the ordering institution has complete traceability for a specific library. The system ensures no duplicate numbers are ever produced for a library. Libraries can be linked in a specific group to ensure that individual branches do not duplicate the number range from a sister branch. Online ordering is available. Computype's customer service group can work with individual libraries to get set up with a password and to explain the online ordering procedure.
